if you ever listen to the ticket post-game show, it's always funny to listen to the reactions of doom and gloom vs. playoff contention when it's a win or loss.

esp mclearin. he's basically a message board poster.

Did ya'll know Bo Roberts was fired over at KZPS? Couple of weeks ago apparently.

Longtime Dallas radio personality - listened to him way back on Q102 in the mid 80s on the Bo and Jim show. They later moved to KZPS and had been there more than 25 years doing classic rock. Jim had retired a few years ago but Bo continued with the Bo and Them show. Before the Ticket that was my morning drive staple.

And still I listened to classic rock mostly if not on the Ticket so would hear him from time to time still - sometimes after muse in the news i didn't feel like listening to ads or whatever topic was up next for Craig and filled the gaps with music or Bo's goofy promotions and mash-ups.

RIP Bo and Jim (career) I think it was 40 years together in Dallas radio.

There was a good article about it by Wilonsky I think.

Yeah he wasn't guessing on his knowledge of Lane's interest….with those comments he knew something. He did say it was up to LSU and whether they were willing to take Lane based on his history, but he acted like if Lane had a choice, he'd be in BR tomorrow.

Kiffin was OC at Alabama in 2016. Les Miles was fired in Sept 2016, so there probably were conversations between two. Of course Ed O became interim then eventually full time at LSU. Kiffin did move that year to FAU so he was looking for another hc opportunity at that point.

LSU would be crazy to hire anyone but Kiffin in my opinion, so this seems like pretty good odds of happening. Unless Kiffin is putting that word out just to leverage a raise at Ole Miss.

I didn't take it quite that way. I know what he said, but he followed it up by basically saying if the visiting team is really good, and A&M is really good, and LSU isn't good then the homefield advantage isn't enough to magically overcome the discrepancy on the field.

I say it every fall but I'm amazed at how poorly the Ticket knows college football. It's great that they bring in true experts like Jones, Klatt, and even Troy who are all extremely well connected and knowledgeable; however it doesn't make up for the fact that these guys (other than Bob and Matt) are completely clueless.

And I'd like to know how the convo went when the hosts were told to never say anything bad about Arch or the horns. If that was the Ags it would be a non stop roast. I'm just waiting on the newest narrative of "it's just a down year in the sport where teams that would usually be 8-4 are going to find themselves 11-1 due to the portal! They should consider not even crowning a champ!"

I think adjusting to parity is going to be really hard for legacy media folks.

11 teams ranked in the preseason top 25 have fallen out completely. The awards for most precipitous falls go to Penn State (#2 to unranked) and Clemson (#4 to unranked). Correlation or causation? Neither played the transfer portal game.
