I enjoy some of the interviews during the Normathon but not the whole day.

Also enjoy that norm is on longer than a few hours so there is a greater chance of drop material for grubes and others to work with.

My favorite Normathon was when Norm couldn't make it.

the Normathon is a 24 hour punch-out for me. sure, he sometimes has some interesting folks on to interview, but most of the time I can't stomach Norm's ass-kissing throughout those types of interviews.

I don't get the Norm hate. The guy researches well and does amazing work on the draft. The Ticket will lose something when he's gone.

I think we just found out what Norms handle is on TexAgs!

In 2 hour doses, I don't have a problem with him.

He does do his research, but at the same time, he's a hardhead that will take a stubborn know-it-all stance defending a very debatable point - or a point that is just flat-out wrong. He and Bascik together can turn the show into a know-it-all free-for-all.

I'll give him credit that he will ask tough questions in some interviews, but in the nostalgia interviews, I just have trouble fighting through all of the ass-kissing.

My biggest powerdown is when Bob Sturm services Richards for a 10 minute segment about the Stars. I don't know if the term "skate chaser" has been coined, but if it has, it certainly applies to Bob.

Funny, but Andy Panda and his trip to the Kentucky Derby with Norm was the best Norm related bit ever.

10-12 and Afternoon Drive will both be really entertaining. Norm and Gordo is always a good combo because Gordo doesn't allow Norm to be serious, he just makes fun of him.

By the way, thank God Gordo is doing tickers again. Gordo's tickers are the best thing about White Elephant day.

I also thought that was an underrated bit...but it might only be done when Gordon isn't there. It was done by a P1 on a day when Gordon was out for a couple days. Sports Shaniqua was done on the other day by another P1.

I was driving my wife's Tahoe the other day, which has the big screen that shows "Info" about whatever station you are listening to. When I landed on "The Fan", the messages rolling through the info included,

"Welcome former Ticket listeners",
"New home of the P1",
"The mother ship has crashed and burned",
"Where the P1 gets to talk",

and another one about being "THE sports station in D/FW".

Pretty cocky considering how bad they're getting their ass handed to them in the ratings.

Has anyone tried the Ticket on Best Buy's new portable HD radio? I would love to be able to listen while at the gym or pretty much anywhere indoors. Or not have to plaster my portable AM/FM radio against the bus windows during my commute.
