It is a special kind of hell. But it's what we deserve. Pro-tip, already said but go during the week. 2nd head toward the back. They do rum tiki drinks.

GWL gets my vote. I went during the end of Christmas break and it definitely had the "Wet Wal-Mart" vibe. That's mostly due to the clientele, not the facilities themselves.

Middle of the week when school is going on probably not so bad. Good way to keep kids entertained for hours.

Take the kids to the Hill Country. Seriously, Kerrville or Fredericksburg are fantastic in mid-February and accommodations are very affordable. The Worldmark Hunt Stablewood Springs is typically $180/night that time of year and you can get a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen then.

We do GWL with another family every year at an "off" time before Christmas so it's not as busy. We only stay one night, but you can use the water park for two days, so it's a great deal if you don't get sucked into any of the extras there. We bring our own snacks and drinks and just have pizza delivered from outside for dinner.

Anything to keep kids busy? "The resort's pool and hot tub will be closed for remodeling purposes from Feb. 1 - Feb. 28 , 2025"

Also, you could always go to the lodge.

On a budget? If not, Rough Creek Lodge out near Glen Rose.

Could also do Dinosaur Valley if they've not done that before.
