How long do you want to ignore this user?
My family currently lives in the Lucas area but we are in Wylie ISD. I have 3 daughters and another on the way. With the new baby, we have outgrown our current home and will be moving. I am officed in Allen (eventually we may be officed in west Plano) so I want to stay somewhat close to the Allen/Plano area to keep the commute manageable. My oldest has been in Wylie ISD for the last several years, but I haven't been too impressed so we are considering private school. We are open to a nonsecular school and are considering Hockaday right now (I realize this would be somewhat of a hike from the Allen area). To make things a bit more complicated we are looking for 2 or 3 acres preferably with no HOA. Are there any christian schools with a similar quality of education to Hockaday in the area? Any recommendations on school/church homes in the area?

Seems like moving into Lovejoy ISD should be on your radar. Better schools than Wylie and acreage lots. If you can afford Hockaday, you should be able to afford a nice house in the Lovejoy zone.

Unlikely to find the acreage you're looking for, but Legacy Christian in a Frisco is good and in the area you're describing.

Coram Deo Academy (university model; 2 days in school and 2 days of home school; might not be what you and your wife are looking for)

The Covenant School (not as far of a drive as Hockaday)

Prestonwood Christian Academy

We had to move from Richardson to be closer to Prestonwood. You seem to be even future. Probably not worth it. They do have an online program though.

Have heard decent things about McKinney Christian Academy, but it might be too far north for y'all

Having gone to one of the brother schools of Hockaday (Cistercian) I will tell you there will be very few academic schools as good as Hockaday, well anywhere in the state. All male and coed education is a bit more competitive. Hockaday is also aggressively secular. It will have serious connection advantages over other private schools but if you're worried about the Christian portion of the education I would highly recommend avoiding Hockaday. Ursuline is the close Catholic companion to Hockaday for single sex education. But again is pretty secular for a Catholic school.

If you're in the price range you'll have the pick of any private school in the metroplex. My advice would be find the school that will meet the balance of what you're looking for (coed vs SS, academic level, facilities, religious component) and then build out the drive from there when looking at homes. Getting this one right obviously has long term implications for your girls. If you have any questions you can reach out to me directly at jt murrey 81 with the Google email.

Trinity Christian Academy (Addison) is right off the tollway about 2 miles south of Bush. Not exactly the same neighborhood of Allen but not terribly far from Prestonwood if you're considering that. A buddy of mine is on the board and sent his two daughters there. They both graduated from Baylor and have Masters degrees from top business schools. Probably one of the better mixes of good academics and Christian values in the metroplex.
