Moved here a year ago and been on the hunt for some good Tex-Mex. What's y'all's go-to? Willing to drive 15-20 min.

Moved back here around the same time and have the same question. I'm looking for a good, greasy spoon, hole in the wall place. Nothing fancy, but somewhere with a Wednesday night Enchilada dinner.

Austin Taco House. Only problem (well not really a problem I don't think) is that they open when they open and they close when they close. Honestly I think in the evening it depends on what activities their kids are doing.
Nice family owned joint, although they do seem to have some other workers now besides their family.
Gotta love a place you can walk into in the morning and they'll ring up your order and yell at the cook to get started before you make it to the register.
You're looking for a drive down to Arlington then.Quinn said:

Maybe a little too casual for what you are looking for but Grapevine as some good taquerias; Taqueria Burritos Locos, Los Amigos and Taqueria El Campeon are good options that I have hit over the years but there are several more.Quinn said:

We found out that after Eduardo's closed.(we loved that place too) that Eddy became the manager at the Pulido's on Precint Line. We have been there a few times and it has the same feeling. He even has some of the same staff from the his place working there.Quinn said:
Exactly. I like that stuff, but what I really want is a place like Eduardo's, which was a texmex place in Hurst that I grew up going to in the 80s and 90s. There's gotta be something like that in Euless or Bedford still. I probably need to just start trying some random places.
Anamias used to be in our rotation. Went way down hill, IMO and we replaced with Mesero. Love it, go couple times a week, and would probably only go to Mi Dia, and occasionally La Hacienda/Uncle Julio's at this point of others mentioned.Hincemm said:
Mi Dia is the best.
Still a fan of Anamias...
Mi Cocina is still good
Been to mesero a couple times. meh
Haven't tried Ferah yet

Pretty sure taquerias are forbidden here in Southlake
