I'm assuming you don't want chains.

J Gilligans isn't bad depending on what you get and the time of day. Mariano's Hacienda Ranch is a good Mexican food place on Majesty near 360 between Division and 30 -- easily within 15 minutes of there. Decent parking but gets busy on Friday/Sat nights. I would try to go early or off hours if possible.

Chicken fried hamburger at Grease Monkey is like the old DQ Dude.

Pretty sinful.

Otherwise Candlelight Inn is fun.

Al's or Twisted Root for a burger
Catfish Sam's or Flying Fish can be really good (but occasionally misses)
El Gabacho Tex-Mex Grill (nice patio)
Piccolo Mondo for Italian

I convinced people still go to piccolo mondo and candlelite inn solely based on nostalgia, not because they are any good.

Gilberto's should be on the list for the mural alone
