Couple more disturbances heading this way tomorrow (Saturday). As long as the air stays this moist and juicy this kind of energy pulse can set off these storms. I agree with this.

The models haven't handled the macro level dynamics well for the last two weeks running.

It's so damn humid again today, and will be until the high gets established and dries things out.

I expect more weather over the next week as long as the dew points are this high. Day time heating will pop wherever it can get through the cap.

No crazy wide spread stuff like we've seen a few times, but more a storm popping up, dumping a ton of rain and some hail on folks, rinse - repeat.

Are you guys talking about the 'Weather' app on the iphone?

It's basically sourced directly from the National Weather Service forecasts.

The local guys all have their own proprietary stuff that's a mix of NWS plus their own models trying to crunch things more at the micro (local) level. Some aren't proprietary, but just use the HRRR computer model that is updated hourly, but colorize and graphic it in their own station's style.

I've listened to them speak at spotter conferences. Outside of about 48 hours, the local network forecasts are highly unreliable.

They'll look good in July - August when the high is settled in and it's just hot every day with no chance for rain, but for events like we're experiencing right now, they just don't have a handle until usually same day.

True, but they pull their data from weather.com that you'd hope to be pretty reliable.

Driving through an insane storm in Waco. High winds, hail and blinding rain. I've also never seen this amount of cloud to ground lightning strikes. Probably 1 every 3-5 seconds for a long time

Yep didn't even get rain all week at our house in Fort Worth. Now a giant storm formed right on top of us in Waco and in a loaner vehicle.

And of course the storm is driving highway 6 just like us

Yeah it ripped down powerlines across 35. I'm headed down 77 and took hail for about 15-20 miles there as well. Whatever little value this vehicle had is probably toast

Stopped at twisted root hoping storm would outrun us south and checked. Only two dents in the loaner. Maybe they won't notice.

I'm in Rosebud almost to our ranch there's a tornado warning directly on me lol

Nice! I took Miss Rosebud to my senior prom in Fort Worth back in 90. Dad's family is from Zabcikville and I met her at Flag Hall.

Damn our power is flickering a lot lately. We've lost power multiple times in the last week and that's never really happened.

Been sitting on a plane on the tarmac since 4PM. Pilot just said ATC has let 3 planes leave Love Field since 5:15. Storm really ****ed DFW and DAL getting planes in the air

Man I'm sorry...MAN I DON'T MISS THAT ***** Flew several times a week for about 5 years and had great benefits, points,rentals, per diems, etc. but dang that was stressful! Always seemed to happen on the way home too. Never on the way to the job!

My office is near that area and the lightning show was unreal. Bolts were hitting the ground every few seconds within a quarter mile

I also office at the Galleria towers. Tower 1 got hit and lost power apparently.

Had to chase my hat half a parking lot from a massive gust that came from nowhere..

I drove by a nearby neighborhood yesterday and the storms took out part of someone's chimney. They had a black tarp over that part and jn blue spray painted on it "Thor was here" and drew his axe.

Good on them for being good sports for a crappy situation.

Loving this cooler, overcast day today. Spent about 6 hours with the kids at the pool earlier.
