On Mi Cocina, we like it. I do think their salsa is very average.

I came here to vote for Joe T's, but since it's been listed, I'll add that I have never really been impressed with Maple and Motor. For all the hype, pretty meh burger to me. It's been a long time since I've been there, though.

I'll attempt to clear up the Mi Cocina confusion. My wife, all her friends, my mother, my MIL, etc. all think Mi Cocina is God's gift to Tex-Mex. Their food is good, but in the end, it's still just Tex-Mex. Which places it at the top of my overrated food rankings.

I will tell you the quality of a given OTB is a function of the management. I have a friend who works for them and used to manage the one close to my house. We'd go sometimes since we knew him and the fajitas (hard to mess up) were passable. Since he moved on to another store, they went right back downhill to mammoth suckage.

The Pico at mi co makes up for everything else. And the mambo taxis...

My in-laws are like this with Chuy's. I avoid Chuy's because I know the next time they're in town we are going there.
I'm surprised to see Applebee's not mentioned, I'd eat mi cocina 100 times before stepping into an Applebee's again.
ETA, my apologies, it was mentioned on page 1. But I do believe it deserves Texags wrath much more than overpriced mediocre tex mex restaurants that are littered throughout the metroplex.

They peaked somewhere in the '90s when they were kind of running neck and neck with Chili's and have kind of been a lower tier restaurant since.

One place I've yet to see mentioned that I'm always disappointed with - Texas Roadhouse. Perhaps I'm a steak snob, but their steaks always seem cheap and thin - baked potato is always overdone.
GTFO. Unless it's changed in the last few years, their stuff is surprisingly high quality.
It's a $20 steak, what are you expecting? Their food is pretty good for the price.

TRH and Olive Garden are in the same category for me because while I know the entrees are good but not great, it's what I load up on before the entree arrives that makes it worth going.
