Wanted to check back in with the community to show you guys how real estate closings are occurring right now. I had two closings this morning, and the process was different for each (but neither was consistent with what we "normally" do).
First, Jack and Sydney closed on the purchase of their first home! I first met them when Jack saw my sponsorship and posts here on TexAgs. This morning, we had a curbside closing. We pulled into the parking lot at the title company (in separate cars) and the title rep walked the papers out. Jack and Sydney then signed documents in their car and I answered a few questions along the way from my car. A little odd, but we had a good time with it, and in the end they are now home owners. Here are a few pics:
Next, I had another closing this morning, but with a different process. I met Westley and Ashley several years ago (also through TexAgs) and I helped them purchase a home in Richardson. About a month ago I listed their home for sale, and it sold quickly with multiple offers. Last weekend, they actually relocated to Houston. So, for their closing, we utilized a Remote Online Notary. Basically, it was like a Skype call between the title rep and my clients. This process had to be approved by the Buyer's lender, and it was very effective.
