I am leaving for Mexico on Wed so I went to pull my passport out & it wasn't there! I last used it in Sept but I have chemo brain so maybe I really did loose it. I have never lost my passport so I went online to make an appt. They are closed on Mon & no appts available on Tues so I called the 800#. She told me to be at the Dallas office at 7am on Tues to get in line. They open at 8am so is that overzealous to be there at 7? I am just looking for any tips to make this process go as easily as possible since I am a little weak from my chemo treatments. Thanks!

The offices do get crazy and the lines go slooooow, so may not be much of an exaggeration. I think I recall last time wife and I went doing some research online on which offices had longer/shorter lines.

I'd get there early. Also I think your congressman's local office can help expedite passports? Not sure. I'd give them a call too.

I've had to do this before. Just get there early to make sure. It was an all-day affair for me.

For future reference you can get a passport made in under 24 hours provided you have travel planned within a week at the main Dallas office

Booked an appointment in Dallas for Wednesday. Good thing she checked.

One of the few benefits of my job - our own passport office right down the mezzanine - complete with photography studio and overnight expedited service so we can get passports in 2 days max. It's good to be tight with the Feds.
