It's absolutely worth a drive to go to Cresson and checkout Brazos, but it doesn't touch Heim's glory.

Agree w/ CDub ... Heim is glorious and a moderate cut above the rest in FW, but BOA & BBQ on Brazos are delicious as well and worth a trip. I know its a bit further out and may not be considered DFW, but has anyone tried the BBQ at Loco Coyote, a few miles west of Glen Rose? I've been a couple times, cool joint, but have only had the "big as your head" burger out there ... and it is awesome. wondered if the BBQ is as good.

anyone planning on heading out to this on Thursday ...

Seriously, check out Crown's BBQ in Grand Prairie.

Man I really appreciate your expertise in this field.. but how do you get past how poorly run the Heim line is? Has to be the slowest line in all of TX bbq right? I must have been on the ****tiest day ever. ..

I've had no problems with their line.

I was near the front of the line on my visits.

One thing that did kind of irritate me is that even when I was camped out for first in line, some lady that pre-ordered still got first cut of everything.

Went to new Hard 8 on 121 was very unimpressed. Brisket very dry and not great smoke flavor. Don't know if bad day or bad piece of meat or just bad. Might give them one more chance. Place is cool with a good atmosphere but food including sides not great.

Yep that's Hard 8. It's good barbecue for people who've never had good barbecue.

Tried to give Heims another shot. Closed at 12:30 on Saturday and not a soul in sight.

Went to Angelo's which some rate as one of the top bbq joints around. The brisket wasn't as good as the most of the places discussed in the thread.

What day did you go? They are closed until their Brick and Morter opens, right?

Today, don't know, but I've had hell trying to catch them open. I work out of my vehicle and try to catch them when I'm in the area at meal time. The trailer was in the same spot with a note on the window. I didn't stop to read it as the place was dead.

The trailer is closed as of last Saturday. They are opening a store on Magnolia at some point this spring.

I can't speak for sides or anything other than the brisket, but I have found Angelo's brisket to be consistently excellent every time I have eaten there for lunch.

Hard 8 I don't understand getting love. The couple of times I ate there it was like Spring Creek. Ok but certainly nothing special.

I've been to Angelo's once and it was terrible. Unrendered fat all over the lump of brisket. Saw nothing that warranted another visit from me. Too many better options in the area

If I was ever forced to eat at Angelos again it would be center cut ribs (because they'll actually serve you the burned up end ribs) and that's it. Not good.
