It's absolutely worth a drive to go to Cresson and checkout Brazos, but it doesn't touch Heim's glory.

Went to new Hard 8 on 121 was very unimpressed. Brisket very dry and not great smoke flavor. Don't know if bad day or bad piece of meat or just bad. Might give them one more chance. Place is cool with a good atmosphere but food including sides not great.

Tried to give Heims another shot. Closed at 12:30 on Saturday and not a sole in sight.
Went to Angelo's which some rate as one of the top bbq joints around. The brisket wasn't as good as the most of the places discussed in the thread.

What day did you go? They are closed until their Brick and Morter opens, right?

Today, don't know, but I've had hell trying to catch them open. I work out of my vehicle and try to catch them when I'm in the area at meal time. The trailer was in the same spot with a note on the window. I didn't stop to read it as the place was dead.

Yep that's Hard 8. It's good barbecue for people who've never had good barbecue.

I've been to Angelo's once and it was terrible. Unrendered fat all over the lump of brisket. Saw nothing that warranted another visit from me. Too many better options in the area
