I used Alvarado Floors. They were very reasonably priced, finished on schedule and the floors look amazing. Hand scraped is fantastic! When it was time to move furniture back in, they even removed all the plastic feet and replaced with felt feet I provided, took them an extra hour or two to do it.
They do a fair amount of work in LH for one of the builders who is doing tear down/rebuilds
Watch the video! Dave will come talk to you, call him tell him the Aggie sent you!
+1 for David @ DFW Custom Wood Floors. The dude is a piece of work, but very upfront and has a great crew that does a stellar job. If you want nailed down hardwood, scraped and stained during install, then he's your guy. He laid 1000+ sq ft for us back in May 2012 and matched the existing custom stain almost perfectly. He was the most reasonable of the 4 bids we acquired. Good luck!
That's certainly the vibe he puts off ... he apparently juggles two or three different business. But he will do a great job if you decide to hire him. Did he submit a bid for you yet?
No he never made it out to bid. The floors are finished, the guys I used (Alvarado Floors) were over 10% cheaper than the two other bids I got. They laid moisture barrier, plywood, felt, then oak planks, sanded, scraped then stained... Just like everyone else but for a great price
