Knife at hotel Palomar (southeast corner of mockingbird and central expressway) is supposed to be very good. Uptown has a ton of great places. Nick and Sams for steak is my favorite. Abacus is close by and also fantastic. For less pricy options there is a twin peaks in mockingbird station.

Henderson avenue locations:
Hibiscus, victor tangos, sissys

Smu-ish:
Nick and sams grill
Sevys

Uptown:
Too many to list, but every type of food and price range is available

And a quick shot down Preston will give you Eddie v's and Al Biernat's. Al Biernat's is the best steak in Dallas.

Neighborhood Services just west of tollway on Lovers. Constantly voted #1 in Dallas.

Al Biernats and Hillstones would be good options too.

Campisi's Egyptian on Mockingbird, east of 75. Good La Cosa Nostra atmosphere, and dim lighting.

Roti Grill on 75 near Knox/Henderson? Just south of SMU is also very good if you like Indian.

Jacks Burger House on the west side of SMU (Hillcrest at Daniel?) has been around since the 50's... great fries with seasoned salt.

We tried Knife last week and LOVED it. Great food as well as atmosphere
