If I order a plate at Franklin's in Austin will I get any sauce with it? Should I insult his ability to cook if I do?

He has sauce on the table for little *****es like you. He doesn't think BBQ should have sauce though.

agcrock, we get it. You disagree with Bo. FIne. So do I. Kindly stop being an ass; he's not.

It's kinda what I do. Sorry Bo. I'll play nicer.

EDIT: interesting that you can write "ass", but add "hole" to the end of that and it's edited out.

Most places in east Texas solely serve completely trimmed lean cuts and throw cuts from the moist end away because that's what the customers expect. Does that make it right?

Didn't see any mention of Mike Anderson's near Parkland. Ate there a lot while at UTSW.

I actually mentioned it on page 2. Again, not Pecan Lodge good, but it's always pretty solid and really good sides. Not to mention very affordable.

Barbecue sauce is delicious....for dipping fries in.

In reality, Franklin's vinegar sauce is fantastic on his pulled. Nothing else there needs sauce.

Maybe I went on a bad day and I know he's an Ag, but I thought Anderson's was terrible.

He has sauce on the table for Bocephus and his friends. He doesn't think BBQ should have sauce though.

My issue with most of the BBQ joints in DFW (minus Pecan Lodge) is that they trim off or scrape off the bark. I like it crispy and spicy and Pecan Lodge delivers on that.

At Lockharts you can ask for extra bark.

Had one of the worst BBQ meals of my life at Bakers Ribs in Greenville this week. Its D- puts it at about 190th out of 200.

Some places' q is just so inconsistent. Ate Peggy Sue ribs the other day and it was like eating rubber. Last time I had their ribs before that they were excellent.

I'm equally disappointed in my lunch today at the original Cousin's in FW. As we all know after this thread, I'm a BBQ snob. I've been to at least 20 of the TM 50, and this was my worst experience of them all. The ribs were atrocious. They were so overcooked there was hardly any meat left on the bone. They were really chewy and hard to pull off the bone. Worst ribs I've honestly ever had at any restaurant. Brisket was decently cooked, but flavor was a little hint of smoke only, no rub flavor. Jalapeno Cheese sausage link was similar to Ekrich with a ton of cheese and tiny amount of jalapeno in it. I will never go back. Very upset too because I've been in FW area for a year now and passed several times on other locations so that I could go to the original. Awful.

On Cousin's -- I definitely think the one on Bryant Irvin is better than the original. But make sure to tell them to leave the bark alone!

That was exactly how I described the sausage at Babb Brothers near Trinity Groves after I had it -- wonder if they have the same supplier.

After at least a dozen fantastic experiences at Lockhart in Dallas, I finally experienced a bad day this past Saturday -- unfortunately all of my family from Tyler was with me this time. They were happy enough with it, but I knew it could have been so much better. Frustrating.

Say it ain't so. I like this place. Don't know why. But it is inconsistent.

Guess I have it pretty easy, I like just about anything smoked. I'm cheap and not remotely a snob about it.

Lockhart's in Downtown Plano is good - but they absoulety SUCK at service. 2 people serving - 3 stand around with thumb's up A**es - not worth it.

45 minutes in line for what should have been a 10 minute line [30-40 ft long] - I won't do it again until they get thier Sh** together. Could have had Brisket a Kelly's across the street, and it is good too.

I just have no tolerance for incompentence - even for good BBQ.

2 thumbs down.

Two Podners next to Fair Park was pretty decent. Great cabbage and greens. Sort of odd being asked if I want the mild or hot sauce. The mild was almost to hot for my liking.
