I thought it was Sharbower too...west Texas folk are a bit odd. The "correct" pronunciation is scarborough like the faire. Idiocracy IMO.

Foo kwah is the way its pronounced by a friend with that last name. I've never understood the Lancaster pronunciation at all...lan cuss ter just doesn't seem right.

In kentucky there is a Versailles (like france) but they pronounce it Ver-sails...I just attributed to their education (or lack of)

Actually Grauwyler (in Irving) was pronounced Garwheeler.

This was the fastest way to get my parents to start a fight (my dad who was born in Dallas County knew the family, my mom was born in Germany and wanted to pronounce it like it would be done over there).
