Family is moving to Plano/Frisco area. The previous owners used CoServ Electric at the new place we are headed. Anyone heard anything good or bad about them?

Currently using TXU so also open to other recommendations. Is Gexa Energy worth looking into?

Go to powertochoose.org and go with whoever has the lowest fixed rate for a term that you're comfortable with. I usually do 12 month terms and switch companies every year to keep my rate low.

I live in Frisco and CoServ is my only option. Likely will be the same for you too.

as the others have said it will be your only option. Rates are ok 9.4 per KW .82 per Ccf I think was what I was paying.

CoServ is the electric co-op for Collin & Denton counties. Electric co-ops were exempt from deregulation so that will be your only option.

I have Coserv and have been happy with them.

In Frisco (Pearson Farms) and that's the only option. Luckily never had any issues with them in 4 years.

I have had CoServ on four meters for 14 years. If you have CoServ then it is likely your only option as it is a coop and they are exempt from deregulation. However, I have had absolutely EXCELLENT service from them in every way. Most recent experience was watching them work on a line that served just my house while the lightening was still going and the wind and rain were raging as hey worked to restore my power. Pricing seems fair and you even get a rebate each year as they are a non-profit coop...grows the longer you are with them. That's been my experience.

Have had the same experience as Harley. Power has gone out during a storm and they come rolling in to fix it before the storm has even passed.

no issues...however their rates are really high.

Been with them for nine years and have never had an extended outage.

rates are actually 12.9

there is only 1 rate plan higher than that for DFW on the power to choose website and its 100% wind...most are in the 8-10 range, with extra perks.

Live in Frisco and use them with no problems. No clue about the rates. I don't worry about it because I'm not poor.

How could anyone be ok with that? There are no other options here.

Yeah, I'm super frustrated myself with the rates... I don't understand how or why co-ops didn't get de-regulated... almost to the point that I wonder if a class-action lawsuit would change things. If the rates were better and stayed more in line with other options, I'd have less of an issue with being required to have co-serv.

Have we played? I used to play at the frisco A&M cub but that been many years.

CoServ was awesome. Had them for over four years living in Little Elm/Frisco. However I'm now paying 8.9 cents/KWh with Houston-based Summer Energy now that we live in a deregulated area (Rockwall).
