Anyone have a suggestion as to good tent camping spots around DFW with good hiking trails? I prefer it be within an hour or so drive. TIA.

lake ray roberts, Isle du bois stake park. Lots of hiking but you'll be sharing the trail with mountain bikers.

More like two hours away, but Mineral Wells State Park is great! They also have rock climbing and nature trails.........

Texoma has a nice park with about 12 miles of trails just off 377 before crossing the bridge over the lake. small crowds also.

Around Lake Benbrook there are a number of parks with campgrounds and facilities. There are a number of trails as well. Though some of the trails run along the backside of houses, gas wells, etc. You can easily get many hours of hiking from around the lake.

Dinosaur Valley in Glen Rose is another good one.... make sure to visit Fossil Rim too!
