i have heard kenichi is the place to go but i looked at the menu and kotta sushi lounge has more rolls i think i would like. at kenichi they put cucumber in everything and it looks like you pay a lot for atmosphere.
anyone recommend any good places

kenichi does have real fresh wasabi though

Oishii on Wycliff is the best for your money

Sushi Masu if your up in the Plano/Carrollton area

Sushi Axiom on Henderson

Mr Sushi on Beltline in Addison

Hibashi on Inwood at Galleria is not bad........

Tei Tei is tops by far IMO

Mint on Forest is solid.

Gui's all you can eat on Sunday nights. $20 bucks a plate, rolls are made to order, unlimited sake as well.

Chaucer's and Sushi Zushi

Simon's. Went Friday night and it is still the best sushi in Dallas. Also BYOB just makes it that much better.

If you're not looking for glitz and glamor, and you're in the Irving area, try Hanaki on Belt Line at Rochelle. They're sandwiched in between a Sherwin Williams and a hair extensions store, but man do they deliver! I go there at least once a week for lunch. In addition to sushi, they have fantastic bentos, daily specials, and a great selection of traditional Japanese items. Plus it's owned and operated by Japanese people who know what sushi should be. I've never been at night, but I believe they have $1 sushi Mon-Thurs.

Sushi Awaji's tuna is dyed pink. Just check out your plate next time you go...a nice puddle underneath.

I second Simon's...greatness. Be sure to ask for the 'other' menu.

+1 on anything Blue Fish, but you will pay for it

Edohana on Blackburn is a good option. It's pretty good sushi at a lower price point. I believe they have a few others around the Metroplex

+1, super yummy. Once I pop out the little one in July I'm totally looking forward to partaking of an ahi tower. BF's cooked rolls are pretty tasty in the meantime though, especially the sundae roll. But the ahi tower is bliss on a plate!

Sushi Axiom

kenichi if you have the money and/or are in to sake.

tei tei is good.

yutaka usually has good fish and at a slightly lower price point than most other places that have good fish.

sushi axiom or oishii if you like rolls and fusion dishes but aren't that concerned about fish quality.

thursdays are usually good days for fish in Dallas.

If you are in the Irving area & want awesome sushi & don't want to spend a lot, go to Hanasho on N Belt Line & 183. It is fantastic. If you aren't looking for sushi, it is still fantastic. Their lunch specials are awesome, we always get their pork katsu don & it is soooooooooooo good.

Little Katana (Uptown) and Stone Horse (Richardson)...owned by the same family.

Ahi Tower

Sushi Axiom on Henderson- best place in town but avoid Friday and Saturday late evening due to popularity, you will be lucky to get a table

The Fish - on McKinney at the bottom retail level, Some rolls were good but not too impressed

I heard about a great sushi place in Lake Highlands (near abrams and skillman) when I visited Tony's Pizza and Pasta a month ago. The sushi place is BYOB like Tony's and is claimed to hold a small price tag for good food. I haven't visited yet. Anyone know about it?
