Can I get some recommendations on sushi places which aren't impossible to get into? Don't care about the part of town or cost.

Izumi sushi - A bit weird eating sushi in the neighborhood shopping center. However, it's good enough that we don't eat sushi anywhere else anymore. The blue fin and salmon are as good as I've had anywhere.
Tomodachi on Patmer. Get the bluefin sashimi...and the sashimi bomb.
PS, any restaurant especially the sushi range should never serve that green pasty s*** that they call wasabi. It should be fresh wasabi ground in house.

Tomo is near and dear to my heart. It's actually great - I just want to ensure I can still walk over and get in without huge waits.

I second Tomo. It's my wife and I's go to for date nights. We can usually make reservations a day or 2 in advance with no issues, but I do recommend reservations.
Second Soto in Cedar Park. Their Happy Hour is awesome too.

I made reservations at Soto on Lamar. I'll be in town for a concert in the downtown area. I need to return many times for other spots.

fyi Soto just opened in Houston and was just on a list of 11 best new restaurants there

Best in Austin by far is Otoko but you said easy to get into.
Most I've ever spent on a meal as well. Great experience. Great fish. Sushi rice may need some improvement

Thank you for all the great recommendations. I decided to make reso at Soto on Lamar. It was close to where I'm going to be. Can't wait to try the 45 min omakaze at Uroko one day.

Our favorites that you can actually get into are Sushi Zushi, and Eurasia. Yanagi on William Cannon is good but still trying to find the rolls I like, but their Nigiri is really good.
