I want to take my son to Snarky Puppy next month, but have never been to this venue. Is the GA down front standing room only? Or are there chairs? If SRO, how obnoxious is the crowd typically? Other than GA there are only balcony seats which seem to still have a pretty good view... I think I'd just as soon be able to sit and relax for this kind of show.

Appreciate any advice!

Best concert venue in town, get multiple Red Headed Stranger drinks and you won't care where you sit.

Floor for Alton Brown and last REK show was seated.

If the show is targeted towards an older than about 40 crowd, they will put folding chairs on the floor.
If it's targeted to anyone under 40, it will be standing.

Thanks for all the advice so far. Sounds like it's going to be standing not seated in the front, so we'll probably grab a couple balcony seats. Any preference for left/right?

Wife and I went to see Lyle Lovett's most recent ACL show. We were front row of the balcony stage left section about in the middle. We were basically right in line with him. I liked the seats because you have a birds eye view of what the band is doing. I'm not sure I would have wanted to be in the last 7-8 seats in the balcony section near the rear of the stage since you'll be looking at the back of the lead nusicians heads. However, there really isn't a "bad" seat in the place and the acoustics are great all around.

It looks like there are 2 together (blue dots?) on the second row of the balcony, stage right. Those should be good if you want the side view.

If you go down early to eat or for drinks you can usually get in the city hall public garage. That is the most convenient for leaving downtown too. If not there is the State Garage N to the west and used to be a surface lot to the north, but that may be a high rise by now since I haven't been downtown in about a year.

If I can't get in City Hall garage drive around looking for the blue P signs.

I always park using Spothero, usually do the 405 Colorado St parking garage. Never over $10 and it's like a 7 min walk from ACL Live.

Seeing Arc Angels there on the 24th. Went ahead and got seats. Acoustics are great all over the place but often times lacking up front. If you want a good sound, get seats closest to the sound guy who is dialing it in.

I ended up with two extra seats to this show because a friend of my son's is going so we just bought seats next to them and I forgot to sell these. Paid $95 for the pair, will let them go for $50 or make an offer.

They're a great band it and it should be a great show.

Wanted to say thanks - this worked out great. Came in 290 and exited as soon as I good on one of the numbered streets, I think 15th? Took a left on Guadalupe and drove all the way just passed 2nd and took a left right into the garage. Event parking was $10 and it the garage is literally ACROSS the street.

Made a rookie mistake of buying $10 "Pre-party on PNC Plaza" tickets. That was lame. They had one guy playing guitar and the "taco buffet" was destroyed an hour before showtime so we ended up with chips & cold queso. Then walked 30 steps and into the venue and there is the exact same vendor selling hot food. So anyway, if you get an email - don't do that.

But great venue, great show, and definitely will be back to see others.
