Your response mirrors mine. I suspect his legal challenge will be about as significant as his relevance - not much. He may not end up facing much from the charges either, but it won't be his lawsuit threat that causes that. What really surprised me was what his presence on the sidelines and that players had the temerity to invite him into the locker room. That does not speak well for Elko and associates when it comes to control of their players or program. Especially when you consider it was a game coming off a two loss streak. Doesn't seem like business like focus to me.

Players aren't here to be educated for the most part. I know this is shocking.

Not the only "social influencer" headlines from this weeks A&M game. Some guy called "Salami" is generating clicks after one of the AD people had some kind of verbal sparring match with him. Evidently the sidelines at the game have become somewhat of a sideshow.

Well, we'll never see the CSPD bodycam footage, so this is kinda moot.

My take away from both the sideline incident and the locker room incident is that field passes need to be more regulated by TAMU. Legit/vetted media, those working for TAMU, or those escorted by TAMU reps need to be the only ones with passes given to them.

I had never heard of this guy prior to Saturdays incident, but he's a social media streamer/influencer who's capitalizing on his arrest with his platform. I'm going to trust the police a lot more than this guy and he gets a ton more clicks, attention and therefore $$$ if he continues to talk about this and make it a big deal.

Just a negative part of the social media world we live in that makes him richer.

I hope they go after the full extent of the charges. Any threat to sue or claim of racism should be met with the removal of any negotiating to lessen the charges.

Salami is a really nice guy. He's a student and Salami is his last name.

Posts a ton of stuff about traditions and stuff he learns it. No idea why they wouldn't want him on the sidelines.

Yeah, that'll never happen. Too many self important donors expect to get sideline time

Didn't he graduate?

And his posts could often be dumb and wrong about traditions. He was trying hard to get clicks.

It's a person who posts…non stop claiming special wisdom over things that gullible people weirdly believe said person really has. I'm less puzzled by influencers than influencees.

Heck, they are raffling off sideline passes to raise NIL money.

I'd love to be a little bird in Trev's office with all this. Doesn't seem to be the style he would want… but who knows.

Our seats are in 114 first row right above the gate where they let people on the field. Its stunning the amount and number of people going on/off the field all game long. Great people watching - all kinds of people

The last time for me was about 8-10 years ago, after a work function a few of the guys I worked with were students and convinced me to go with them to Northgate. Closed it down for the last time ever in my life that night. Was sick with a hangover for 2-3 days after.

The only place on NG I go is Rough Draught and rarely on a game weekend.

THIS.

They do regulate the hell out of it from a professional/work/media standpoint but what do you do when donors and some athletics/coaching staff hand them out like candy? It's an impossible task to have complete control over the passes and an unbelivably thankless job trying to police it.
maroon barchetta
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's not impossible. You just have to say no sometimes.

You can't say no when the person you give it to gives it someone they shouldn't. It is impossible to control those kinds of interactions.

This is most likely how Salami got on the field.

To?

I mean sure you boot the person off the field that shouldn't be there but do you tell one of the coaches or Mr. Football that they can't have passes anymore? That ain't happening.

They can stay in their suites or their armchair seats.

When I interview kids in school as part of my school assessments, the number 1 job expressed by them is being a Youtuber/influencer. I kid you not. Definitely time for me to retire.

This.

The contractors for "security" are picked up from Houston/Dallas and bussed in. They're paid about $250 for the day and a cold sandwich. You get what you pay for. You can routinely watch them let people in without checking bags. Law enforcement there is onsite for specific purposes. Bag checking isn't it since they can't legally just go off searching every bag.

Now apply that same principle to watching the field. The actual TAMU staff are the only ones doing it.
