i'm old enough to remember him when he was the anchor for KCEN TV in Waco.
As a Consol grad like himself, it was nice to hear him come back to home.

Interesting tidbit, his 1st marriage resulted in a son. They named him Kacen(?) because of the TV connection.

Also old enough to recall Chip Howard being the sports guy @ KBTX before moving to radio.

It's actually Casen, but it wasn't until I was in college after I told that story, I was asked why my name didn't start with a K rather than a C.

Thank you everyone for posting. It's been a full week soaking up nostalgia. Its hard to imagine that he's been doing this my entire life and I'm 44 and tomorrow I'll listen and he won't be on. There are so many countless people who he was able to reach and connect with that he would always run in to someone…usually multiple people, when I was with him running errands growing up. But also like he has told me a time or two, life goes on.

How neat it must've been to grow up with such a Dad! He's a great man. Thanks for sharing him with us all those years.

Respectfully yours

Having grown up in Beaumont, I always wondered about Scott's "Beaumont years." I presume that the Hicks family offered him an opportunity there.

I believe that's correct, but it's been a long time since we talked about that.

Even though I was born in Beaumont, we moved to B/CS when I was 3, I believe.
