59 years at the same place...especially in the radio business...is quite the feat. Congratulations and enjoy sleeping in from time to time!

Scott/infomaniacs have been our morning alarm clock for the last 38 years. Really gonna miss Scott!

I grew up listening to that guy. He'll be missed. Scott, Chase and Tom were the best morning trio for years.

Announced on Facebook they are bringing back Frito who used to be on Candy95.

Going to miss Scott on that show. He was very good interviewing the mayors. He wasn't afraid to ask them the difficult questions and would press them for answers when they wouldn't answer his questions. Scott held that show together. Wishing him the best in his retirement.

Nope, no Katy. It will be Frito, Will and Riley. I am not sure who Riley is, and I pretty much stopped listening once they brought Will on because I am not a fan of him and some of his opinions.

Have found myself back listening to sports radio on my morning drive to work.

Yep. And rip Chase. Should have been the Aggie radio guy these days.

This feels like the end of an era. The Infomaniacs - Scott in particular - gave me my "Waterchick" nickname.

She's a former Aggie track & field athlete who is at the beginning of her broadcast career. Had a cup of coffee at KORA last year then has been working with Louie Belina much of this school year. IMO she has done a great job taking advantage of opportunities that have come her way. She even guest hosted the 3 on KBTX recently.

You aren't the only one that thinks that. That said, I like the mix of personalities and backgrounds for the new show. Should be interesting.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Scott pop up on things like candidate forums, etc., like was mentioned earlier from time to time.

Care to elaborate? I am not in the car at the time they are on very often but nothing he has said has jumped out at me.

I don't want to get into a back-and-forth. Suffice it to say he said something during a show that ruffled my feathers, so I made the choice to no longer listen. It is nothing against him, just didn't see something the way he did and it made me tune out.

As I always hear people say, "if you don't like it, don't listen." That is the option I picked.

Not sure about Will's opinions, but I am not a fan either. For me it is the affectation he uses on the radio. It does not seem like a good fit for a morning program. Too much contrast with the other Infomaniacs; while they are engaging in witty banter and yucking it up, he sounds too formal. Like an announcer for game show or narrator of a documentary.

Grew up with WTAW's "Muck and Mire" show (Joe Munroe & Sam Jones). Then always listened to the infomaniacs before moving away to Wisconsin 17 years ago. When back home, it was always good to tune in and hear Scott's voice again. Heck, I am so old that I remember him as the news anchor at KBTX. Thanks, Scott, for being part of the Brazos Valley's tapestry for so many years! Enjoy retirement!

We went to the reception honoring Scott yesterday evening. WTAW did a fantastic job! Great speakers and video of some former Infomaniacs telling stories. Delicious passed appetizers and nice bar set up. Met several folks Scott has interviewed over the years - it was fun to put faces with names. Overall great event. We're going to miss waking up with Scott but it seems he's leaving it in good hands!

The amount of complaining about the government increased about 10 fold when he came on the show.

Not that I think we shouldn't complain about the government, but I don't want to hear it for 2 hours every single morning.

Scott DeLucia first interviewed me 35 years ago. I was the PIO for the city of College Station, working my way through TAMU post Air Force enlistment.

He had no time for BS. He did during the entertainment part, but would put his "all business" persona on for government interviews. He was more informed than the people he was interviewing- usually by far.

For some reason I feared him a little bit every Thursday as PIO, but now relish those interviews as a councilman. I'll go on the 19th of this month in council rotation and he won't be there- which is hard to fathom.

Any elected official that went before Scott unprepared got exposed quickly- but without a mean spiritedness. If electeds try to run out the clock on him to stave off subsequent tough questions, he'd pretty much let them but seasoned listeners could tell what was happening.

Scott DeLucia is an old school radio man with a love for community and a new age commitment to the issues of the day.

Our local media will suffer without him. Two mayors and a council member from either city for years. What in the world will we do without him?

I'm a fan. I wish him the absolute best in retirement.
