I really hope this involves extending Balcones back to Welsh, and even then you don't need a light there.

TXDot has been advocating to realign Woodlands road and Waxing Lane on Harvey Mitchell and making that a light. It could be that.

Starbucks by Veterans is now open. Saw the sign yesterday. No one was in line at 8:30 AM and I was shocked. Might help alleviate some of the traffic at the location further west.

I seem to recall CoCS arguing with First Baptist over that. Developer of the other property was going to front the money for the road adjacent to the new development. City staff were trying to treat the church like a developer and make the church pay for the road adjacent to the church. I believe someone at the city finally realized what a dumb idea that was.

Yeah that would be a substantial amount of parking lot to shave off, too. It could be done if the West Ridge rentals were bought up with some road rerouting and other stuff, but that's too sensible for CoCS to pursue.

That area got several new developments. Is the Knight Club still open? I knew someone that barred there and she hated the place.

No idea if Knight Club is still open. I do not fit their target demographic. Never been in there since the guy shot up the place when it was Prospectors / Rockies / whatever it was.

When they moved to the Urban dance club / Latin demographic, I kinda tuned it out, except for the police reports that seemed to get generated there.

Is the ACE Hardware at SW Pkwy and Texas going out of business? I was in there and many aisles had less than 50% of the items on that aisle actually stocked. It was like the end of a going out of business sale …..

There's never anyone in there when I go. Was in there last week and it was like they didn't have the lights turned on.

Sad. I remember when ACE was the epitome of customer service and assistance. As that started to die in store after store, ACE seemed even more personal. Nothing lasts forever, alas. Many happy memories of my dad and I visiting an ACE and my dad thinking he was in Heaven.

The one in Coppell used to be fantastic and busy all the time. And the employees were very knowledgeable.

Good call. I had forgotten that.

Sad to hear if so. I know the one on Wellborn used to have some really knowledgeable people there.

The one on SW Pkwy is one of the few places that you can get loose bolts and screws, etc. Lowe's and HD have blister packs, which are fine if you need more than one.

Last time I was there, no one was helping customers and as stated, half the aisles were empty. They do have a decent BBQ seasoning section there.

Turner Pierce in Navasota is Ace also. The hardware section now looks like a thrift store with so much crap in the aisles. Much better when it was True Value.

I know LJS is cheap crap, but every once in a while I get a real hankering for it.

I grew up frequenting the one in my hometown. Absolutely loved it. The one here always kinda grossed me out, so I never went there.

I'm pleasantly surprised they're rebuilding with as little business as I ever saw there.
