This morning and throughout today we have noticed a big increase in water pressure in Woodcreek. Anyone else seeing this around town?

Sudden water pressure increase?

Live near that area and noticed the pressure being a lot higher the last two days. Hope it holds as we've had issues the last two years with our irrigation system due to low pressure and all they could tell me is that it was a "known issue".
Opposite for us, we're now at 95psi and it's causing some issues with the fridge water line and a couple faucets

Turn the pressure regulator down at the street. Should be right after the water meter. Mine is in a round green irrigation box.
we don't have a PRV, and I'm not keen on paying for one if the city continues to cause the fluctuations in pressure
you need one, I installed mine and it was easy, you won't have a problem anymore I set mine on 60psi
I guess city code requires one. Last house I sold it came up on the inspection and I had to install one to appease buyer and their lender.
Just remember PRVs don't last forever. It's a spring and diaphragm design. I've seen mine last 7-10 yr over 3 decades

Be aware if you don't have one currently and install one you are changing your water supply to a closed system. A closed system requires an expansion tank on the water heater or a code compliant shut off valve that has a bypass for pressure build up built into it.

Our build was before the code requirement, so we wouldn't necessarily be required to have one unless the city inspected/tested pressure and found it to be out of compliance.
What's frustrating is that our pressure was fine and then suddenly went much higher 2 days ago, which may force me into spending on a fix

I wonder if water pressure had anything to do with the pipe bursting at Pebble Creek elementary? We have a PRV so I haven't noticed any changes
you would assume a big commercial building would have a regulator although they can fail
