Some of us don't think this sounds enjoyable at all.

I have nothing against Century Square, but have no desire to go to anything that is located there, and would prefer to go to Navasota.

Why does it feel like so many on this board have a personal vendetta against Century Square? Is this a long running joke that i don't get? Because all the negative stuff is simply not true true if you have ever been there. Someone help me out here...what gives? Why do y'all want businesses to fail in our town?? (because the negative comments sure would keep me away if I had never been)
Because if Century Square can charge for parking and succeed then other places will too.

I'd never pay to park when there are so many other choices!

We go there all the time and have not paid to park once. Amazing to me how many people use this excuse or just don't know about the parking garage that's always free.

Not really equivalent.

I can park for free 20 feet from the door of Grub and almost every other restaurant in town that's not in Century Square.

Can you park for free 20 feet from Hopdoddy?

I need the extra steps after eating at some of those places. So yeah, it's not a big deal. Plus, they want you to walk all around the square and stop into other shops along your walk. I would probably almost never go to Lucchese or King Ranch for a single stop, but I'm definitely stopping in all the time now because it's on the way to and from dinner.

But this argument has been done over and over on TA. I'm fine if you don't eat at the Square because you don't want to walk two blocks. Less people in line for when I go!

Walk two blocks to eat? In this heat?

I was thinking today about Moe's closing and started wondering if there was a comprehensive list of businesses that have failed there?

Just off the top of my head, is there more?
Moe's

Runway 7
Although I didn't know Moe's was closing. I liked them.

I'm all for a good bashing, but there are some MASSIVE exaggerations going on. The only way the parking garage could be closer to the action is if it was built on top of it. I'm not a fan of Century Square, mostly because everything there is pretty expensive, but it's not near the walk y'all are making it out to be.

it's not a huge walk but it is a barrier to convenience especially for someone just wanting to go on their lunch hour.

You'll spend at least 5-10 minutes driving to the garage, finding a spot and then walking to whereyou want to go.
Then the same 5-10 minutes to come back.

add in whatever the drive took and you are probably down to about 30-40 minutes left.

Not huge, but it will eliminate all those locations when there are much faster options for people just wanting a quick place for their lunch hour.

Maybe yall should write the parking management company sternly worded emails if you want something to change instead of yelling at clouds in every texags thread about people trying to open a business

I've done just that -- multiple times -- and the response I get back is something akin to, "Go away, lolpoors."

yeah, I don't care enough about it. I'm not complaining, just explaining why a lot of people don't patronize those places. There's a barrier to me visiting and lots of others. Don't put up a dumb barrier no matter how small to get people to patronize those buildings.

if they are worried about students parking there and going to classes then just contract out to a towing company... those vultures will add watchers to see who goes into a restaurant and then leaves to walk to across to campus.

The ironic thing is, they'd make more money on the split with the tow company.
