I am interested to see if any cheap eats restaurant from 1984 to 1990 are still around.

For me. Back in the day. It was Archie's 39 cents, the Asian owned deli behind flying tomato that was later turned into a parking lot. Cow Hop, Grandy's and the Fast Food Chinese on Wellborne.

Whataburger, Long John slivers, Dairy Queen, Kentucky Fired, Dennys, Subway, Kettle, are a few that come to mind.

Maybe so, but to me anything below about $10 to $12/person is cheap. A Whatabuger meal including drink is $8.79 plus tax/

Nothing any good is really inexpensive anymore. That ship has sailed.

Where you going to get a meal less than $10?

Best I have is La Botana


It's like $8.28 with tax for a lunch special and includes a drink

Little Caesars is still pretty cheap. I think a pizza is $6.99 before tax, $7.49 including tax.

Yep. What I do is order the supper portion and take about 1/3 home to have for lunch the next day.

That 3% sales commission is looking pretty good in the current housing market where most houses here are at least $200k….

I mean - backing out the $13 worth of hooch gets you to $37 divided by 2.5 people = $14.8 per person.

So comparing that $14.8 vs the $10.60 ($9.79 + $0.81 for taxes) for a spicy chicken sandwich meal in all things actually is pretty reasonable.
