Saw today that Chicago added Texas to their list of states that require you to quarantine for 14 days if you visit them.

I've known of a couple of these, needed surgery, tested positive but didn't have any symptoms. Never knew they had it. But they weren't hospitalized.

Someone told you wrong. No one getting a pre op or pre delivery screening positive is being hospitalized for that test alone. Pre admission screenings are positive every day. Surgery just gets postponed unless emergency.

Yes, I understand, the large majority of those testing positive pre-op are sent home. From what I have heard, there have been at times some who couldn't be sent home because of larger surgeries (maybe a knee replacement or something, wasn't told) that weren't emergencies but big enough patient couldn't be sent home. Not claiming the numbers are heavily cooked or anything. I guess more just made me realize what's probably obvious to health care professionals: there's a spectrum care/illness of hospitalized covid patients. Anyways, sorry for the derail.
Knee replacement gets postponed regularly.

It is a really nice optic that the first home game for A&M showed no spike at all.
I recognize that many of the attendees traveled so they would not show up in our local report, but the student section was pretty full and we see no significant bump 9 days later.
