COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - The College Station Police Department says a man entered Rockies nightclub on Monday morning and fired a gun, leading to a standoff. Police have closed Park Place Plaza, where Rockies is located, and are asking people in local businesses to shelter in place.
College Station police said on Twitter that evacuees from businesses were being escorted to the TruFit parking lot at 2412 Texas Avenue, where they can be picked up.
The College Station SWAT and hostage negotiation teams are currently on scene and attempting to contact the suspect to end the situation peacefully. Department of Public Safety state troopers and College Station city marshals are also assisting College Station police. They are uncertain how many rounds were fired, but believe no one is injured at this time.
College Station Lt. Craig Anderson said there is no apparent relationship between the suspect and Rockies.
Police initially responded to the scene after a call from a citizen saying shots had been fired inside of the club. Just after 11 a.m. Monday, College Station police said on Twitter that gunfire was reported in the area of Rockies at 2501 Texas Avenue.

I know the owner and a few of her friends. Her phone was inside and it sounds like the suspect was using it to send pics and video. There's no word if she's in there now, but she would have been there doing books and accepting deliveries. Hopefully she got out.
She is a single Mom and her brother and co-owner of Rockies passed away from cancer a little over a year ago. She's had a rough go of it, but has been a real trooper. Hoping everything is alrighht for her and her kids.
