My son drove into Pebble Creek from the Service Road to Venture Drive and saw a big bobcat in the road around 4pm. The bobcat ran to the sidewalk and my son got a picture of it but i do not know how to uplaod pictures here. The elementary school is a block away.

Odd to see a bobcat out in the daytime. I know many people have seen them around the golf course but this was not even close to the course.

Nothing to worry about just an animal.

Bobcats really don't tend to bother people. Possibly small unattended pets can be seen as prey, but very very rarely will they stick around with a person in the area.

Sprawl can be tough on wildlife. Glad our local critters are hanging around as the area grows and develops.

As long as it's not in a zoo, in a cage, and a gorilla it should be fine.

Here is the pic I took. It was on Venture Dr. less than 100 yards from Pebble Creek Elementary. It was about the size of a 3rd grader as well.

I zoomed in so that's why the pic quality is so bad.

Thats awesome!

I grew up in the hills of Tennessee on 89 acres. We had tons of bobcat there. You could hear them scream when they were claiming a kill, but I've never seen one in person. They are really quite skittish animals.

I did come home from school one day to a Mountain Lion who was sunbathing about 100 yards from our house. Never had a problem with him either.

Was it in the 1910s when you saw that mountain lion?

Early 90's actually.

There's lots of critters that the "officials" won't say exist there, but if you ask anyone that hunts or owns land they will tell you without a doubt. We also had really small, scrubby black bears too. But they weren't too common.

You must be new to Texas. In east Texas they are everywhere. Along with your occasional panther, turkeys, and bears. Yes some black bears still roam east Texas.

Been here 20 years. I would not have even mentioned it if it were not across from an elementary school.

There is at least one big bobcat between the wood Creek subdivision and sebesta road. Probably as big as the one in that picture

Not surprised, I see more rabbits around PC than almost anywhere. Plus you got a bunch of habitat around the old dump. You might loss a occasional house cat. But bobcats aren't much thread to anyone except small mammals.

I saw this black panther over near CSHS a few years ago. I'm surprised there haven't been more reports of missing pets/kids.

Seen a fox and a bobcat in Woodcreek/Foxfire area. Bobcats are a rare siting as they are very secretive. But they have always been there and don't seem to mind skirting the edge of communities. Like coyotes, house cats are a delicacy for them... (;

There was a smaller, lighter colored bobcat by the front entrance of Pebble Creek on Saturday.

Bobcats are harmless. They are keeping the vermin population down. I have seen one cross arrington rd before by the protected wildlife greenbelt area.

I said the same thing a month ago and was hooted off the forum. I identified it as a Jaguarandi, but it could very well have been this guy. It was about the same size, but I thought the head was smaller. Its lope was magnicent. BTW, that "protected wildlife green belt area" is about to be plowed over for a massive apartment complex.

As far as I know the nearest jaguarundi sighting is Brownsville, and there are some major differences between bobcats and jaguarundis considering they look like a long tailed weasel.

Yup and will be moving soon enough when that happens.

Kind of rare to see them during daylight as they are very secretive by nature. I usually get lucky and see 3-4 per year on our deer lease in Hearne.

I would be way more concerned if it was a coyote and even then wouldn't worry about it.
