Now I know I made the right switch from Suddenlink to Direct TV. Direct TV also bundles phone service and internet service with Verizon.

What I was paying Suddenstink every month for less channels and no DVR. I'm paying about the same for all premium channels and the DVR. Lots of channels no outages so far (knock on wood)and I'm satisfied.

Same here - we switched from SuddenLink and got DirecTV last December and have not once been disappointed. LOVE DirecTV and am so glad to not be giving my money to SuddenLink every month, except for our internet. I wish we could dump them for that, too!

meezermom - check with Direct TV about your internet. Verizon had a great deal for my high speed internet which was also cheaper than Suddenlink. No problems there either.

We started to go with Verizon but it was just going to be DSL. Got them to sign us up, they sent out the modem thingy and then we just chickened out and sent it back and cancelled, sticking with our high-speed from SuddenLink. We do a lot of stuff with photos, etc. and need high-speed and I was hearing terrible things about DSL so I just stuck with SuddenLink. Can you get 10 mpbs through Verizon for less than $50 a month?

I'm not really sure about that. But hey at least you have Direct.

Thumbs up for people smart enough to search for the shows they like to watch if they notice a change in channel number.

It seems like there's no perfect choice on this.

I had the DirecTV bundle with Verizon. I had no problems with DirecTV but Verizon was THE WORST. I had to examine my bill carefully every month because I was so frequently slammed (or is it crammed?) with services I did not order. One month it was a video game package. My initial order was completely screwed up and it took hours and hours on the phone to fix it. My phone line was apparently exposed and when it would rain, my phone and internet would not work, but they refused to send someone out for almost six months. Finally they sent someone and it was fixed within 10 minutes.

I just constantly felt like they were being unethical and dishonest. I reported them to the FCC on a few things.

Suddenlink may be more expensive, but I have never been put through the extremely frustrating waste of time that was trying to deal with Verizon customer service. Worth the money.
