Mr. Electric: Do you have an infrared camera to assist with energy audits or are you just looking at electrical stuff and what is visible? I'm just curious if anyone actually does an IR audit around here and what they run. I would imagine a bit more that $90

I know where my problems are currently, but don't really want to remedy them until I have to replace the roof.

That is just not right. $700 for a duplex? I realize I am on BTU and have better rates, but 1800 sq ft house with four people, 80 during the day and 78 at night with the ceiling fans going, it was $166 and add another $40 for water......that is still $500 less than you are paying?

Something has to be really wrong at your place. It's just insane. I hope they find that their meter is screwed up and give you a refund.

Man i thought mine was high. 1700 sq feet, 77 during the day m-f, 70 at night. 75 during the day on weekends. Water twice a week on a normal sized lot. My bill was ~$300.

I think it really depends on the house...

Lived in a 35yr old 4-plex in Bryan a couple of years ago, 75 at home, 78 while gone and our electric bill during the summer was $7-800 every month, no lie it was awful. We did everything we could think of and every recommendation to reduce our costs we even hung our laundry out to dry. We even had the property management company send someone to check the ac to make sure it wasn't malfunctioning. We moved as soon as our lease was up!

Moved to a newer 1yr old duplex in CS, close to the same size, keep it at the same temps our bill has never been over $125...

We do not have an infrared camera at this time. We are an electrical contractor and do our energy audits based on electrical consumption.
