The traffic circle in New Braunfels is at the downtown plaza by the old courthouse. There is a gazebo in the center along with a water fountain and some other historic items of interest. And somewhere there in the middle is a brick with my name on it.

I bet EVERYBODY north of Bill Fitch will drop by the new HEB for the first few months after it is open. Those who like it will continue to shop there. I know folks who gladly drive an extra 10 minutes just to get to grocery stores and restaurants they like.

Anybody hoping for any kind of exclusive shopping center based on geography is due to be surprised. Folks from Buffalo and Livingston and elsewhere drive all the way to College Station to go to Post Oak Mall. Don't think that folks in Bryan won't drive down to Fitch to visit the snazzy new HEB. Folks from Hearne, Franklin, Caldwell, Madisonville, Navasota, Anderson, and elsewhere will try it out too.

I live in Pebble Creek and I DO NOT want this BIG BOX grocer in my back yard.

North of Rock Prairie, to SW Parkway, there is a Kroger not many people know about behind that McDonalds on Texas. No really, there is a Kroger there I promise, this is your store.

HEB on Texas and Holleman, this is for students and those who live in the middle of town in the student area.

Main -- University - the Alberstons on University this is your store. Enjoy.

As for Bryan I don't know much, except for Los HEB and the big Kroger on the bypass. Do what you will....

Interestingly enough, if you pull up New Braunfels on Google Earth, it automatically centers on the roundabout.

And wasn't there one in Waco?

There used to be a roundabout at University/College Main. They should bring that back.

I drive up from Houston all the time to go shopping (not grocery shopping), but really, it's only so I can drop the kids off at my parents and shop by myself.

Actually, my MIL from Livingston comes here to go shopping quite often. Beaumont and Lufkin are closer to her but they lack the draw of having two grandchildren living there.

Yes people do drive far, but not quite that far. (grandkiddos excluded) Otherwise there would be no stores in B/CS and we could all just drive to Cypress thats all I was saying.

I am not sure anyone from B/CS (other than gangbanger wannabes)frequent Post Oak Mall anymore. So its got to be all out-of-towners.
