I'm going to chime in.
I think some of us (me included) need to realize the La Bodega is not a bar (like the corner etc.) but is a restaurant that also serves drinks. While I would have liked to see more beers on special, being more a beer drinker than mixed drink guy, I am there met and mingle with people.I think Eccell group has done a good job of catering to our needs and doing what they can to provide an environment for us to gather and have a good time.
Service was a bit slow (while I was there), but we also took up much of the patio. Again we need to understand that the wait staff have other obligations too and other customers that want a meal. Maybe something can be done next time to speed up the service, but when one realizes the large numbers we had not to mention the others in side and outside I think it was fine. Keep in mind they did a better job of setting aside tables for us than the corner bar did last HH.
I will freely admit that I am not a huge fan of La Bodega. I would prefer to be at the corner, Fox & Hound, etc. I will continue to attend HH at La Bodega though, with the understanding that unlike others places I frequent it is more upscale Mexican restaurant than drinking establishment.
