Who remembers when they opened the KMart and we all thought they were crazy for opening it so far out on the end of town. Where Tractor Supply is now.

And the Bar Charlie's in the Doux Chene apartments was 'South CS'.

And the Lewis & Coker grocery store next to K Mart.

On Farmer's Market.
Having checked my rememories with a few others', Wes Gideon opened his Farmer's Market Restaurant there on Texas, first.

Later, a sandwich shop--which may or may not have been called "Po Boys" became available. Wes took up running that location, too. It was what is now the downstairs to Basil's. The upstairs was "Copy Place" or maybe "Copy Corner." (Next door to that upstairs, and over the now-former Loupot's was the semi-infamous Adult Arcade.)

Wes got out of the NG location in the late '80s, if memory serves. He "folded" those operations into the Texas Ave location.

Wes later retired, happily. That is, until Don Ganter lured him from retirement to run Sachel's, there at Church Ave & Boyett St.
so is anybody alive that knows what was in a Dorian and a Benjamin?

Does anyone remember a sandwich shop that served a sandwich called The Benjamin around 1977?
