Just returning chit brutha. Its what i do best. Im an ient compared to you. Thats both a blessing and a curse. I smoked another last night and it was about what you described. But i still think its going to stay in the rotation. Ill try a couple more sizes then probably grab a box or two soon. It showed me enough in the first two to be a keeper. The first half has been awesome so i think itll even out but will probably always have 2 pretty distinct halves. This my father lancero is also pretty damn good although it keeps wanting to go out. Could be all these fans going though and the damn humidity.

First one felt like that and smomed faster. Second one didnt but had less flavor/ strenght. They either arent rolled as well as the tempus or arent rested as well. I suspect both but think a good rest will cure both well enough.

Rest is definitely a factor. With all these new sticks coming out there's no doubt they'll mostly be good but be better with rest. I don't think a lot of people realize the toll all the traveling and man-handling it takes on cigars. I want to smoke an Opus so bad but I've only got three and only one of those three is barely four years... I guess I'll have to turn to my pipe for a little solace.

Already won a 5er of RP Sun Grown on Cbid tonight... after all the talk about them a while back, I figured I'd give them a try.

One drawback- no Cain Straight Ligero yet on Cbid. Definitely getting more when they come up.

it might be a while before they show up on cbid, but they should be in shops now.

They might actually show up though, they're blended by the same people as nub.

Bonita has Habano and Maduro now I just saw.

Norse there is no need to sit on an Opus for that long. I'll sit some for a year or two but thats not necessary. Will they be a bit more refined and develop more sweetness etc? Sure. Most times I like them a little more edgy.

Well, all I've ever heard since I began smoking cigars is to sit on an Opus for four years or more before you smoke it to really enjoy it. Mind you, I've smoked fresh Opus's, two-year old Opus's and only one that was aged more than four years and it was a five year old Opus and honestly, I thought it was the best. There's something about the fresh ones, though, that draw me in. The smell is intoxicating and when they're young they taste more like the power of their aroma. I love Opus. That said, God of Fire Carlito is my absolute favorite cigar EVARRRRRR!

Cooked Shrimp Scampi and smoked a Cuvee Blanc and Padron 3000 Maduro last night.

Both were good. Very different sticks.

I wanted to add a Camacho 5 Pack but I just got my humidor seasoned and stabilized so I am not exactly sure how many sticks it will hold so I figured I would hold off till I got these in.

Thats an understatement. I'm not sure two could be any more different.

Completely agree. It was a very interesting transition... I am glad I smoked the Cuvee before the Padron. I think if the order had been switched, the Cuvee would have been ruined.

Well, conceivably one could suck tremendously while the other is exceptional. This would make them completely opposite, but since they're both great sticks, they are not wholly different... Though flavor profiles and strengths aren't in the least bit comparable.

Someone once told me that if I smoke multiple cigars in a day to smoke them lightest to fullest so my palate would be able to easily adjust to the increase in strength. Over the years, though, I've come to the conclusion that it is best to smoke the cigar I like most and work my way down from there. Approach your favorite with the cleanest palate and then move to the other sticks you like a little less. I like this position much more.

I can see both points of view. I do not have enough experience smoking multiple cigars per sitting and/or day but when I have, I have always started with the "lighter" flavor profile.

I normally start light as well unless im going to smoke 2 to end the day. Then ill smoke the larger stronger first then finish with a smaller cigar usually a corona or lancero. Works well for me. Tat zona del este followed by tempus corona tonight.

I'm smoking Frog Morton On The Town tonight. It's quite a lovely blend.

On a side note, I think we should do a TA cigar hour in College Station some time this Fri/Sat/Sun at the cigar shop to commemorate school starting again even though I'm the only student. Anyone interested?

I for one will be easing down south to fill feeders and get stuff in shape for deer season as bleek as i think it will be. I will however be smomi g cigars and drinking beer supplemented with gallons of water and gatorade. Ill smoke with you in spirit.

i will however probably make a trip there sometime tomorrow to check for new stock.

It would be nice if we could all get a hold of some aggie tickets and make a weekend of it.

I'll probably be at the shop tomorrow smoking my pipe sometime around 2 or 3. Down for staying for a smoke or no?

Wow. One trip to the west coast and my whole habits change. Have smoked twice in 5 weeks.

You fail. How could you not feel inclined to smoke more? Even once a week for posterity's sake.

I love smoking when it's cold too, but when it's hot I just smoke inside somewhere...

BNP- I wish it was in the '70's here during the day and not only at night :/ Also, I really wish you didn't like Rocky's and bought 15 God of Fire's instead.

15 GOF would be a little expensive... even in a great deal.

The GOF I smoked tonight was excellent- I think I even tasted blackberries oddly enough. It was good stuff. 2nd only to the Cain Straight Ligero I will be stocking up on soon.
