Took a couple of the tat blacks out to take to a family get together this weekend and noticed that of the 6 that I got in about 2 weeks ago 2 of them had developed some wrapper issues around the foot and on up a little higher - drying and cracking.

Took a quick look to see if anything else was doing the same thing and didn't see anything.

Hygrometer shows continuously at 64-66 humidity and 68-70 temp.

Got an order of cc's in about the same time and they all looked perfect.

The blacks still smoked pretty good though.

That wrapper and quite a few others seem to enjoy being a little wetter than some others. The way the foot is uncut probably plays a role in that I'd imagine. Enjoying a li a privada whatever the toro size is called. Damn tasty.

well, i got my humidors and cigars up to alaska with little damage. next time i buy a humidor im definitely keeping the styrofoam and box so i can just ship humidors to myself.

oh well, i got to figure out how to smoke in the cold. lol. i guess just put on more jackets.

Shockem, i highly recommend going to the Texas CigarFest in April. I met T$ and AgDad and had a great time. Im going to *try* to make it this year.
let me know if you're ever up this way and ill give you a shopping list .

That would be great if you could make it in for the cigar fest again - that was a good time - hope others can make it this time also.

doesn't look like ill be able to take vacation or make any sort of plans any time soon, otherwise i would go to the cigar fest.

Bought a box of Feral Flying Pigs (can't remember the kind), but the guy at Specs said it was 1 of 2 total boxes shipped to all 119 locations. These are HUGE cigars. I'll report back after I smoke one. I'm going to need about 2 hours to kill. I'm not a fan of purchasing a box of cigars when I've never tried one, but I trust this guys judgment. He's never steered me wrong.

Any of you cigar vendor guys know anything about these?

If they are ANYTHING like the original release of the flying pig (and they are supposedly the same blend in a longer cigar) they should be outstanding. I haven't had one yet but it is on my to do list.

I used to be a big Hemingway fan but now I find them to be a little mild for my taste. Still a good cigar. And IMO any good cigar goes well with scotch. I have a feeling tonight is an Anejo 48 or Wolfman night.

Finally got a good day where the weather was good and actually had some time - did some yard work - mowing and trimming - then sat on the deck with a cold beer and one of my Partagas Serie D 4's that I had been sitting on for about 6 months.

Very mild - great ash - good till the every end.
