Well, I am in north carolina, after all...

No, seriously, I do more than that, but I don't know enough about specific lure types to describe them over the internet.

With the exception of a shakey head rig and the occasional light crankbait they are all I use. contrary to popular belief, they are not hard to use providing you set them up correctly to begin with. Here is a great site for that:

I've probably got 40, and use 2 kinds the most: A BPS Extreme reel-don't go with the 7:1 unless you are throwing a lipless crankbait or spinnerbait-and a Team Daiwa Advantage 153HST.

Why do I like them? Better control, heavier lines and baits, fish heavier cover, and the name of the game in fishing: Confidence. I know I'll probably get the fish in the boat with them, and I can't say that about spinning gear.

Once you get thes set up right-see above link-just practice. Backlashes still happen, but not to the extent many think. Give me a baitcaster anytime!

ive used baitcast reels for as long as i can remember, moving up from the Abu's to the curado, the older model though, and combined it with a 7' custom light action rod and it works wonderful. I use 10-12 pound line and work the brake as needed depending on wind and lure weight. Also have a spinning reel too though, but you cant beat the curado. It takes time and practice to get the baitcasting down.
