In this thread? On our boards?

What are you even going on about at this point?

It seems like you made one reply and now you're trying to argue with anyone who disagrees with you.

I've only witnessed a lot of seemingly reasonable people discussing self defense strategies on these boards.

I don't ever recall a bunch of trigger happy people looking for a reason to kill someone here. That's completely out of what's typical here.

Don't jump in the thread insulting people and then get your panties in a wad when people don't share your same opinion. Makes you look like a soy boy woke leftist.

Plenty of people have made very valid reasons why a product like this is a good thing on the market. Every contradictory post has been the same by making some scenario about meth heads, multiple assailants, and other situations 99.9999% of people will never experience while insulting anyone who makes a point that a gun isn't always the best tool for the job.

So, yes, when people say that a gun is the only appropriate tool for a conflict then it definitely sounds like someone is just looking for a reason to shoot someone.

If someone is breaking into your house intending you harm good luck with this.

My aunt lives in nice lake house in a very rural area. Meth heads and trailer parks not far away. Her husband passed away this year and she's terrified of guns. Even though they have an entire gun safe filled with guns her sons got her one of these. I think they're nuts.

I would never let a loved one depend on one of these as their sole source of self defense. Just my opinion.

Absolutely this!
Good luck using this on some drug fueled idiot that has evil intentions. Or in a situation with multiple assailants.

Or trained ex military, or ninjas!!

The way y'all treat a scenario that has a less than 0.01% chance of happening is hilarious sometimes. If y'all treated vehicles this way then we would all be driving cars with roll bars, 5 point harnesses and helmets at 20mph. And I say that as someone who has plenty of home defense.

Guess what, if someone breaks into my house I'm set, my wife is probably set, but my 9 year old daughter isn't going Rambo and drawing down on a group of thugs. She'll have to be a casualty of war since nothing is apparently better than something.

You are living in a world of denial if you think things like this don't happen. A guy that use to work with me had the same mentality and woke up one night to his wife being raped on their living room couch while he was asleep on the floor. The rapist stabbed him 15 times when he intervened. The first thing he did when he was released from the hospital was buy a gun. Evil exists. Continue to deny that and live in your little bubble since that is your choice as a free man but don't chastise or ridicule those of us who do know evil exists.

I didn't say it never happens. I never said evil doesn't exist. I also never ridiculed anyone, despite the fact that every post that is against the product has an insult towards anyone that could possibly think things like these have value. You definitely got that part backwards.

Let me spell out my point for you, again. There are plenty of people who have issues with guns. Having SOME defense would be better than none. Forcing someone to have a gun that won't ever touch it will do absolutely no good.

He didn't say they don't happen - he said there is an extremely low probability of it happening. Which is absolutely true unless you live in Syria or the Congo.

The whole mantra on this board that every single break in is done by some drug fueled meth head that is absolutely impervious to any and every type of deterrent short of a full mag of XX caliber to the dome is stupid. And its obvious that nobody watches any type of actual video where people are engaging with one another - the first sign of resistance in 99.99% of every scenario and the bad guys are going the opposite direction. They don't want to get shot just like you don't want to get shot.

Does that mean that .01% doesn't happen? No, that's not what I said (beating you to the punch since reading R hard) - only that it is an extremely low probability and if it weren't, we'd hear of a lot more scenarios where the bad guy broke through the wall Incredible Hulk style and proceeded to wreck shop while getting consistently punched with 9mm and .45 ACP rounds without showing any signs of damage.

You know what one of the best types of self defense (non lethal) is? A friggin can of bear spray. I'd rather whomever to have that or wasp spray or a pepper ball gun than nothing, and it isn't even close.

And if you are in an area where drug fueled near invincible meth heads are routinely breaking into houses pillaging and raping - move. You are in a crap area.

Gawdam. Wish I could achieve a level of sleep like that. Impressive.

If my dog twitches during the night I'm wide awake.

The wife wanted a Byrna for much of the same reasons stated above. That is until I showed her a video of a guy running at a Bryna shooter and it didn't phase him. She's much more open to a lethal option now.

Pretty sure you can give your 18yo a handgun, they just can't buy one themselves from a FFL. You can also sign them up and get them a Texas LTC now too. Great class even if they don't want to carry in public but just want for home defense. Now ammo for it is still iffy for them to purchase alone but you can buy any they need and give to them, the can possess, just can't buy yet.

Dad gave me a Ruger Redhawk 44mag for my high school graduation.
