What base and side angles would you put on GS and slalom skis for a U10?

Also, how do I get approved for AmerSports? Hoping once I get a coaching credential they'll let me on it.

Just booked flight to SLC for Snowbasin. Im excited and I don't even ski. Kids have been taking lessons there the past 2 spring breaks (6 days total). They had my 8 yr old daughter on a blue on day 5 and my 6 yr old son doing some longer greens.

2 questions for this year.

Poles? Neither kid has used them and instructors have said it is optional. Wondering if I should get them for my daughter?

When should I consider switching from group lessons to private lessons for the kids? I feel like my son should stay with group lessons this year. For my daughter maybe start a few days with group and then go private for 1-2 days.

My kids didn't get poles until until their 4th spring break skiing when they were in 3rd grade. Felt about right. No real need for them before then (and they had enough going in coordination wise).

Our rule is they can have poles when they can carry both their poles and skis. It was nice not having to drag them through the flats when they got their own poles.

Any hints / tips for Mammoth?

Booked spring break for the first time there.

3 adult skiers of moderate / advanced ability.

5 kids from 5 and never skied to 13 and probably more technically sound than all the adults.

We'll probably do private lessons at least a couple days in 2 groups, maybe ski school for least experienced.

Mostly looking for tips getting around the area and mountain, and what to do non skiing for the day off and 1 non skiing adult overall.

The biggest concern for poles with kids is whether they can handle getting on and off the lift with them. That's a huge change for them, and there's a lot going on at a fast pace.

My 7yo is good now handling everything on her own. My 5yo will start out the season with me holding her poles on the lift and then we'll get her up to speed doing it herself. These kids are skiing 50+ day per year.

I let my kids practice getting on/off lifts with one of my poles before we let them have their own. otherwise, we kind of left it up them and their instructors.
