Better start paying attention to the warnings about fumes.

Boat racing is like a beautiful woman.......expensive, high maintenance, but well worth the fun!

This article has the most details I've seen since I saw that video yesterday. The incident stemmed from a potential trespass at a wildlife refuge. The only claims about how the initial contact went down (in the field) are from the guy who got tased, so we don't hear both sides of that interaction... what I took note of is the gas station was 20 minutes away. So, did the guy lead the F&W officer with lights and sirens going on a 20 minute slow speed chase for gas and a pack of smokes? Or did they coincidentally end up at the same station and the officer pick the issue back up after stewing on it? That's a big hole in the story that would speak to the officer's reaction over 'a $10 ticket'.

Yea until I hear the whole story I'll reserve my judgement instead of making my own assumptions. I'm sure there are more actual facts yet to be learned.

One judgment you can make is that the officer was a dumbass for deploying his taser near the gas pumps.

I saw this yesterday on Not The Bee. Same link as OP posted
As others have said they'd a lot of missing context. The guy indicates he passed through an open gate. There's no mention of signage or other markings, I didn't see any mention of what he was doing. Present ID is a lawful instruction, but why was the encounter reengaged by the officer?

Lots of unanswered questions.

To me, this doesn't look good for the fish and game officer...but I don't understand why people think it's smart to give attitude to law enforcement. Even if you are factually correct, you are asking for a bad time. Be polite and deal with it without a potential dust up by an angry officer.

Was the gate on the refuge posted? I'd like to see a picture of it.
Was Coyle snotty when told to leave?
The FWS LEO was really spooled up at the gas station. He needed to reign in his temper.

Frankly, both of them seem to have contributed to this incident.

And yeah, did the LEO have his lights on and Coyle kept driving?

Not enough information yet.

No joke. A man can do a lot of dumb stuff on a Thursday without getting tased and set on fire.
