You might also want to check out the Bite Me podcast. One of the guides is in that area and he shares some tips from time to time, dispersed throughout the entertaining BS of them all talking crap about each other. I like it. It reminds me of me and my fishing buddies getting together and doing the same in the truck on our way to the coast.
We had large numbers (over 100 a day) of small trout with some 23s and 24s mixed in, on Thursday and Friday over grass and potholes with suspending baits. We also had a decent topwater bite early and found some reds in the back lakes. Fish were all over the place. All the usual summer time haunts. Big fish were at a premium in most spots we fished, but there was also a ton of boat traffic, which I think shuts the older and smarter fish down.
Same pattern the weekend before as I had the rare occasion to fish two weeks in a row. That was nice since our weekend this last one was dissected by thunder cells and we looked like drowned rats at times.
On the subject of podcasts, Mill House has some good ones, and I enjoy Speckled Truth, and Laguna also. These last two are fairly conservation minded, so if that is not your thing, may want to leave them alone.
And the SGREM fishing report made me LOL...so true.
