Looking for any personal experiences with the electronic deterrence devices (like vermix pulse pro) specifically for cabins that aren't lived in every day. Do they work or waste of money? Also any other effective strategies the OB might have run across.

This stuff is great for stuffing in holes/gaps. It's like a scotch brite pad, but has sharp stainless steel wire running through it (you'll cut yourself if not using gloves):

I also use the WEIGHTED bait boxes around my cabin, and use FINAL bait chunks. They have more grain in them, which makes the rodents want to consume more:

The weighted boxes work better than cheaper non-weighted. Without the heavy weight on the bottom, raccoons will attempt to flip the boxes over and shake bait out.

Also, had better luck with these traps (they can be purchased cheaper, elsewhere), than the old traditional wood. Load with small amount of chunky peanut butter.

I've got two of the electronic ones going near my hunting vehicles. I don't know if they work or am I just lucky? Either way I have no signs of rodents under hoods. I run two because if they do work and one goes out there's another. Not quite sure how to tell if they emitting sound.

Howdy, NEVER had any luck with the electronic stuff, dunno how that farce ever got started!

I don't think the electronic stuff works. Problem is how do you tell if it's working or not?

Yea my mechanic told me about how great they are. He swears it keeps rodents as well as wasps away from his shop. I have no signs of rodents in my hunting rigs at ranch. Maybe I'm just lucky I don't know but I'll keep them plugged in in the event that they work.

Those electronics are like flashy fishing lures…. They catch more people than anything else.

These are fun. Wouldn't recommend them for locations that aren't checked daily, though. Especially in the summer.

Agreed. Nature has the answer as usual. I've got two in my barn, no mice in my glue traps (those are inside the camper which is parked in the barn)

Moved one about 20 yards out of the way this weekend so he wouldn't get stepped on while we were working. Super docile for a rat snake, so I know they are eating well!

I also have those ultrasonic noise generators plugged in the camper but idk if those make a difference tbh

I have burned so many hours watching UK videos of rat dogs decimating hundreds of rats on farms. Ferrets as well getting them out of small holes.

When I worked at zoos still, we had a guy who would come into the zoo and request lion poop to keep deer out of his garden.

Maybe some fox urine around... I know I made a garlic/4 kind of hot pepper/dawn dish soap (strained out peppers and garlic after letting marinate in the 90 degree heat for a day) that I put in a sprayer and sprayed around my garden - ground hogs wouldn't touch my garden any longer. Course, had to re-apply after it rained.
