Razor binos used to be made in Japan, and those are the ones I have used. But Vortex shifted production of Razor binos to China, and my only experience with these was a quick look through one while I was at a Cabelas. I will say that the Chinese version did seem to be quite good, so as much as I like the Midas UHD, I would be pretty confident that the current Razor will be better. And that price is
exceptional. Enough so that I am thinking about getting one, and the last thing I need, besides another hole in my head, is another pair of 10x42 binos.
That being said, there is a caveat of sorts. I also believe that if you handed both of these binos to an average person who does not use optics on a frequent basis, that they might be able to discern a difference in build quality, but they won't be able to tell you which has the better view. If that describes you, then I would say just stick to what you already have. If however you are an experienced bino user and can discern minute differences in the quality of the view, then I would say that you would most likely be happier with the Razor, as long as you don't mind the price difference. If I were in your situation, I would make the switch given this unusually low price.
I would suggest that you buy both, so that everyone in the household will have their own pair of binos.
