Using straight Remedy as a stump treatment.

I have historically done basal spray with a diesel and dye mix, but started experimenting with cut stump treatment on yaupon groves (all the same root system).

My results with basal spray is generally 2-3 months for it to drop all leaves and die back, then about a year for it to be brittle enough to break off at the base by hand.

With the groves, I cut some of the biggest trunks and spray straight concentrated herbicide on the stump, let it soak in, spray again, and repeat that process 3-4 times. I start seeing leaves die and drop throughout the grove within a month and more significant impact throughout the grove at 2-3 months.

My personal take is if you want to treat it and not worry about cutting it and hauling it out on the front end, use basal spray. This reduces the need for mechanical removal due to how brittle it makes the plants. The downside is seeing a bunch of dead plants.
