Tentative home found!

Owner says black German, but photos and a Belgian owner say he's a Belgian.

Backstory: this dog was wandering the streets in the neighborhood on July 4th, well before dark. He came by my house and came to me when called. No collar. He was really friendly and came inside. He never barked, and when our Boxer mutt got kinda jealous, he paid her no attention. On the 5th, our neighbor checked and couldn't find a chip. I took him to PetSmart, and no luck there on a chip. Late that afternoon, we got a message from his owner, and returned him.

We just got a message that she is going to surrender him this weekend. The owner is not asking for a fee. We are remodeling, so we can't take him due to being in a 28ft trailer for the next 2 months. He's the most chill dog I've ever been around. He's 2 years old, intact, and has had his shots (per the owner). He does shed.

His name is Shadow.

This was on our trip to check for a chip.

This is from the owner

I'll do every thing I can to get him a home and not go to a shelter.
If interested, text/call me

Looks like a 3/4 malinois and 1/4 cattle dog. I see hints of Merle in the coat. Should be a great dog for someone.

Any idea why they want to surrender him?

Owner said he belongs to her oldest daughter, and the daughter isn't around much. She said they are getting her step-daughter, and that kid is scared of dogs.

That is a smart, smart dog if so. We have a doodle/heeler mix and I swear that this is the smartest dog we've ever had.
