Looking for some advice regarding zoysia sod. How long can it remain on a pallet at this time of the year in Houston ?

Can't answer that question but I planted palisades zoysia sod Summer of 2020 and it's doing great.

I ordered Zoysia about 4 years ago. 4-5 pallets. My last pallet was not emptied for about 10 days. It was browning around the edges and top leaves at the end.

SteveBott - Do you remember what time of the year the grass sat on the pallets ? Also, what part of the country did you live in at the time ?

I ordered late so May. Should have have ordered march. But the sod companies could not get their st Augustine out of the fields. So went Zoysia. I got lucky we had a week of consistent rain which delayed planting but it helped keep the grass moist. I live in round rock

Can't say but I put in sod in 2021 and while most is great it's not strong against some weeds and gets overtaken and also burns super easy from dog urine

Not sure I'd of done it in hindsight sight for those reasons. But it's great looking and very soft on the foot

SteveBott - Thanks for the reply. We're going to try next week, so hopefully I'll get a little rain along the way.

Sure thing. Good luck. Also, what I like is the recommended schedule for zoysia is the same as St. Augustine (I have zoysia in the front yard and SA in the back).

Plant the same day for best results, no yellowing
2-3 days will be yellow and go into shock, taking several weeks to recover fully.
4+ days most of the pallet will be pretty far gone
Put a shade cloth over it or set in the shade to last longer.
Temperature, wind, humidity will all impact survival rate.
