Anyone heard anything about an active shooter at the NCA nationals Cheer competition in Dallas?
This is what I heard too.CavitationAG said:
Read that it was just a fight amongst parents and no shooting. From local Dallas news on twitter.

Did you mean to reply to this message? I have no idea why you would be offended by this statement.
So now there is a "too soon" rule for events that didn't happen but potentially could have?

We live in a society where there's too much money making involved with kids sports these days and now every parent thinks their kid will be a pro athlete. Let the kids play multiple sports. If they are a stud in a sport go the specialized route once they are developed and 11 or 12 years old. The fun has been removed from kids sports. I've seen way too many kids get burnt out playing year round baseball etc. Let the kids be kids and enjoy life. Too many people are trying to live their lives through their kids being the ball player (or cheer leader, etc) they never were.

If no shots were fired… what was everyone running from?

Cheer parents are insane. Especially cheer moms and I feel for the dads too. Some just look so broken & dejected they look on the verge of eating a bullet.
IMHO the parental craziness of youth sports (and cheerleading like this is basically coordinated team gymnastics) is from worst to least terrible:
1) hockey
2) cheerleading
3) AAU/travel basketball
4) football, travel baseball & softball are probably tied
7) travel soccer
8) league baseball/t-ball
9) lacrosse
10) swimming
Actually they should be in jail facing charges for each person that was injured in the mayhem.insulator_king said:
Bring back flogging for idiots like these.
