In Czechia, every letter is pronounced. In Texas, you gotta ask people to pronounce their names for you.

The old men would say Bo-Sek… us young honyocks tend to say "shek" instead of just "sek". Maybe that's just around me.

This. My grandfather's farm is made up of numerous tracts bought from old farm families when he was a young man. Bo ha chek is a field on our farm and we still call it that. Named after the family it originally belonged to and the old shell road to the homesite is still visible when it's plowed over. The area was a Czech settlement in SE Tx and the local Catholic Church history book states an Indian family was living in a tent on one of the local farms in 1907.
