How long do you want to ignore this user?
Just wanted to see if any of you have installed the star link system (mini I believe it is) on your bayboat in case you go offshore up to 50 miles.

If so, what all do you recommend for inclusion for best performance and longest battery life etc.

Thanks in advance

If you are just looking for texting, you may want to try signing up for this beta:

Don't know if it helps but we have Starlink on our offshore platforms at work and some sailors in the Navy got in trouble for installing Starlink on their ship.

I just bought a mini and started experimenting with setting it up this weekend. My use case is entirely terrestrial, so a little different.

What do you mean by battery life? The Starlink doesn't have its own power supply. It'll barely be noticable against the rest of the battery draw on an offshore boat with a 12v system.

Newer iPhones not on T-Mobile can text but it requires you to hold your phone up towards to sky and lock onto a satellite signal.

It is just sms though. No media

I have an iPhone with Verizon and did the GPS texting in south Texas this year. It was pretty cool! Point your phone towards the sky, follow arrows until it locks on satellite and then you can send and receive messages with only text over iMessage.
